Com linguagem simples e muito agrad�vel Luciano Pires nos conta como foi o planejamento, a viagem ao Campo Base do Everest e os reflexos que horas e mais horas de caminhada representou em sua forma de encarar o dia a dia.

Divertido, emocionante e surpreendente s�o os adjetivos que representam bem este livro. Recomendo a todos. Literatura muito prazerosa que em poucos dias � devorada.

Eu li e fiquei encantado com a simplicidade e objetividade com que o Luciano Pires relata a experi�ncia dele nesta viagem ao campo base do Everest!

� sim um relato pessoal, mas acima de tudo, tamb�m � cultural e geogr�fico.

Nele eu aprendi muito de geografia da regi�o e sobre os costumes do povo do Nepal. Costumes estes muitos estranhos, por sinal, tal como fazer uma fogueira para se aquecerem com bosta seca de boi!

very sexy and emotional

"Supplicant" is very explicit and erotic while being sexy and emotional. The author does a great job of balancing Gabriel's undeniable attraction to Dom with his confusion over his own sexuality. The sex scenes are very hot and Gabriel's wavering between desire and denial makes this a compelling read.

Role playing (and BDSM, which is not present stricto sensu in this first part but is looming nonetheless) beyond the walls of the bedroom has little or no place for me in the real life of balanced, sane people.
Even less is the place it should have in romance; it can have some in erotica IF the author is skilled and hones characterization fastidiously, pacing the relationship with utter attention to detail.

It does not happen here. Had the author restricted herself to the sex scenes, which are nothing special but not entirely bad, she could have got away with this faulty short story, the first episode of a serial.
Unfortunately she went for the whole package and we have an unplausible, strained plot based on two cardboard characters that are hardly believable in general and should have no place in a romance.
Gabriel is not just young and naive, he is an oaf with no backbone and Dom is just a manipulative, mean son of a *** taking advantage of him. How are these two supposed to lead a romantic fantasy escapes me but I would not stomach them even in down and dirty porn.

That said, that writing is nothing special and the POVs of the story clumsily managed is hardly relevant and only add to the general disappointment.

I really enjoyed it and am starting the next one. I would recommend it. The author Meg Harris definitely knows how to make you connect with the characters and you can step into what the are feeling and doing ;)
